Zombies fans will be happy with the latest details from Treyarch on the highly-anticipated game mode ahead of Black Ops 4’s release.
In a video uploaded to the official PlayStation YouTube channel, Zombies director Jason Blundell has given an inside look at what Zombies maps will be available with the game at launch.
Unlike previous iterations of the franchise that have only launched with a single Zombies map, Black Ops 4 will ship with three maps for fans to sink their teeth into — IX, Voyage of Despair, and Blood of the Dead.
IX will see players transported back in time to a gladiatorial arena complete with medieval costumes that will allow players “to experience the gore, the blood, and the violence” of that era.
Voyage of Despair is another time-traveling affair where players will do battle on the infamous Titanic, and Blundell assures there is “more to the situation than just icebergs.”

The final map is a blast from the past in the form of Blood of the Dead, which is a reimagining of the map Mob of the Dead from Black Ops II. Players will meet the familiar cast of characters as they try and escape from the prison island.
Starting as a mere easter egg on Treyarch’s Call of Duty: World at War back in 2008, Zombies had grown into a cultural phenomenon over the last 10 years.
Also shipping with Black Ops 4 is Blackout, Treyarch’s battle royale mode, that received widespread praise during the beta and has many players preparing to dive in once the game launches on October 12.
