Warzone stats guru TrueGameData has explained why the new UGM-8 LMG, which was released as part of Season 4, is the best long-range gun in the entire game, and has broken down the ideal loadout to give it “no recoil.”
Every new Warzone season comes with a host of new weapons to try out, but not all of them make a splash in the meta. For every Cooper Carbine, there’s a Whitley that the community just doesn’t take to.
Warzone Season 4 added the Marco 5 SMG along with the UGM-8, and while attention has mostly been on the Akimbo SMG, the LMG has proved to be no slouch either.
According to Warzone expert TrueGameData, the UGM-8 is the “best long-range gun” in Season 4 and has broken down the perfect loadout.
In his June 28 video, TrueGameData experimented with Warzone’s best weapons to find the number one long-range option. He compared a number of different attachment combinations and considered crucial factors like TTK and bullet velocity.
After running all of his tests, it was actually a burst build of the UGM-8 that came out on top. It had virtually no visual recoil and an impressive bullet velocity, which means accurate players will be able to delete enemies from incredible distances, especially if they can pull off headshots.
“I think the UGM-8, the new LMG, is the best gun in the game, both with the burst barrel and without,” he explained. “I personally like the burst barrel more because it’s easier to hit your shots at extreme ranges.

“It has no recoil whatsoever, and you can still get an insane time to kill if you hit two of those headshots.” TrueGameData then broke down his ideal burst UGM-8 loadout for Warzone Season 4. Check it out below:
TrueGameData’s burst UGM-8 Warzone loadout
- Muzzle: MX Silencer
- Barrel: Romuald 560mm DA
- Optic: SVT-40 PU Scope 3-6x
- Stock: Romuald Tac YR
- Underbarrel: M1930 Strife Angled
- Magazine: 6.5mm Sakura 125 Round
- Ammunition: Lengthened
- Rear Grip: Hatched Grip
- Perk: Brace
- Perk 2: On-Hand
There are three key attachments on TrueGameData’s UGM-8 loadout to unlock its full potential. The first is the Romuald 560mm DA which unlocks burst fire mode, allowing players to land their shots consistently with a more focused firing type.
Next up is the Romuald Tac YR Stock and the Brace Perk. Both of these drastically increase accuracy when firing the first few shots which, when paired with the burst fire rate, leave the LMG with virtually no visual recoil.
TrueGameData did also note that the fully automatic UGM-8, built by swapping the Romuald 560mm with the Bernard XL214 736mm, came out second in the rankings. So, if you’re not a fan of burst weapons, the new LMG could still be incredibly effective for you.
Consider running either of one of these builds in your next match on Caldera, it might just become your new favorite weapon as we head towards Warzone Season 4 Reloaded.
