An anti-cheat system is reportedly in the works for CoD 2021 and Warzone, as the developers look to address the single biggest gripe among their player base.
Call of Duty titles have long been the focus for hackers and cheat makers, causing the state of both main series titles Black Ops Cold War, and its Warzone battle royale to deteriorate.
It’s been a constant struggle for all involved, but it looks like there could be a meaningful solution to the franchise’s problems soon.
Warzone anti-cheat leaked
Call of Duty insider Tom Henderson claims that a highly requested anti-cheat software will soon come to the game.
“A new anti-cheat system for the next Call of Duty title has been in development for over a year. The same system will be implemented into Warzone,” Henderson said.

There is no official confirmation from Activision or Ravensoft about a potential anti-cheat software, however there have been hints that would suggest it.

On Aug 11, Ravensoft announced they had banned over 50,000 Warzone accounts in their latest player purge. While that’s a welcomed sight, critics voiced concerns that hackers would simply create another account and continue to cheat in Warzone.
Along with the news, Ravensoft said they were working to deliver something they’ve been hearing the community clamor for.
“More importantly, we are listening and hard at work behind the scenes,” the devs said. “We will have more info for you soon.”
BOCW and Warzone’s player base and streamers have been begging for a viable way to counter hackers. Other than mass bans, there’s been little response from the developers on a long-term solution.
Dr Disrespect, NICKMERCS, TimTheTatman, TeePee, and more are just a handful of big-name streamers who’ve temporarily moved on to other battle royales like Apex Legends due to consistent hackers ruining games.
This is a crucial moment in Warzone’s lifespan, and it’ll be interesting to see if Activision can successfully ship out an anti-cheat before the launch of CoD Vanguard.
