With the launch of Season 4, Warzone developers Raven Software have made a major quality of life change that will make navigating the Gulag and getting the better of your opponent even easier.
The Gulag has changed fairly regularly throughout Warzone’s lifecycle, from the early Gulag Showers of Verdansk all the way up to the current ‘Hold.’ Some have been favored ahead of others, and each has brought its own trials, tribulations, and reasons to enjoy.
One complaint that has been increasingly common over the years since Warzone launched, however, is the audio in the game.
While there have been complaints about audio across the entire title, one area it has been very prominent is in the Gulag — but that’s changing in Warzone Pacific Season 4.
When taking part in an intense 1v1 for your spot back in the battle, you need every piece of information available to you on your opponent, and no distractions while doing it.

Many players have reported that this can be impossible at times, however, as audio is so frenetic in the Gulag.
This is due mainly to the fact that you can hear spectators running around and making noise above you as you try to pin down where exactly your opponent is, but Raven has committed to changing that by muting spectator footstep audio for players who are fighting in the new “Hold” Gulag in the Season 4 update.
This will no doubt be a huge help to players trying to earn their spot back in Caldera and regain for a victory, without having to make out your opponent’s footsteps from those running around above you.
With Warzone 2 coming out at the end of 2022, the devs Raven Software may well be trying to finetune the current game and test out new things for the highly-anticipated sequel.
