Warzone Pacific and CoD: Vanguard’s first season is well underway, and fans are casting their minds forwards to what could come when Season 2 begins. Here, we run through when that will be, the new content it will bring and more.
The long-anticipated transition to Warzone Pacific finally came on December 8, transporting all battle royale players to a new sun-soaked island called Caldera. The BR has been fraught with issues since it dropped, but many fans remain optimistic ahead of Season 2.
Fresh content, whether weapons, vehicles, balancing changes, map adjustments, skins or cosmetics are always expected with the launch of new seasons. As such, players want to know about Warzone Pacific and CoD: Vanguard Season 2.
When does Warzone Pacific and CoD: Vanguard Season One end?
There is rarely official confirmation of a new season’s start date until much nearer the time, but the preceding season’s battle pass often indicates when players can expect it to end. Season One’s battle pass is due to expire on 1 February, 2022. However, Activision have officially confirmed that Season 2 has now been delayed by approximately two weeks.
As such, Warzone Pacific and Vanguard Season 2 will drop on February 14, barring any further delays, and will release at 5pm GMT/9am PT/12pm ET.
The news was confirmed in an Activision Status Report, released on January 19, explaining that it would give the developers more time to fix the game’s issues. It comes just days after Activision officially apologized for the state of Vanguard and Warzone.
They said: “We will use this additional development time to deliver updates, including optimizations to gameplay, game balancing (including weapon and equipment balancing), to fix game stability and bugs, and to ensure an overall level of polish.”

What can we expect in Warzone Pacific and CoD: Vanguard Season 2?
The prevalence of bugs and glitches in Warzone means we can expect plenty of fixes to accompany the Season 2 update. These will likely carry over to Vanguard as well, which has experienced more than its fair share of problems.
Leaks have now emerged, pointing towards a new shotgun, KG M/40 LMG and the Chauchat. There is also a new female operator and a new Alps map, thought be for the Ground War mode.
Relating specifically to Warzone, leaks also suggest new Armored Convoy vehicles, Planes and Redeploy Balloons will come to Caldera. There is also suggestions that gas weapons will be on their way into Warzone.
In terms of map changes, we might see minor adjustments to problem areas and a few POIs, but large-scale changes seem unlikely given the newness of Caldera.
We will, of course, update this piece closer to the time, when more details are available.
