With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s life-cycle winding down, fans are turning their attention to what’s next for Warzone and a possible Season 7. Here’s everything we know.
Call of Duty: Warzone represents new territory for Activision’s famous FPS series. Infinity Ward and Treyarch have been long time collaborators (and alternators), but Warzone will be the first time an Infinity Ward creation moves forward as a key part of a Treyarch game. Questions, then, dominate the minds of fans as Black Ops Cold War draws nearer.
How will Warzone incorporate Black Ops Cold War’s weapons, equipment and scorestreaks, while still maintaining Infinity Ward’s gunplay and core mechanics? There’s a lot up in the air, like the possibility of a Warzone Season 7.
Is Season 6 the last season for Modern Warfare?
We know more seasons of Warzone will come, but how they will work alongside Black Ops Cold War remains a bit of a mystery.
Currently, Modern Warfare is in Season 6. Season 7, though, seems to be off the cards, as Season 6’s end date (November 24th or there abouts) is heavily indicative that it will last up until after the launch of Black Ops Cold War.
There could, in theory, be a continuation of Modern Warfare’s seasons but, given the inevitable player count drop that will accompany the launch of BOCW, it seems unlikely that Infinity Ward will pursue this model.

Warzone Season 7?
As uncovered by leaker BKTOOR, some marketing material from Call of Duty does mention Season 7. It explains that you can purchase the Season 7 battle pass with the CP earned in S6.
However, a new season for Warzone might not be associated with Modern Warfare. Although these images reference a Season 7, they are likely just placeholders within Modern Warfare.

When the next season of Warzone drops, it will more than likely be alongside the opening season of Black Ops Cold War. You can expect the usual additions to Warzone though, in the form of buffs, nerfs, new weapons and POIs.
With a lot still unclear about Warzone’s incorporation into Cold War, stay tuned to Dexerto for the latest.
