A talented Darling in the Franxx cosplayer has brought the anime’s heroine Zero Two to life with a jaw-dropping cosplay that looks like it was lifted straight off the screen and transported into real life.
Darling in the Franxx first appeared back in 2018 as a joint collaboration between Clover Works and Studio Trigger, and immediately became a smash hit with fans across the globe as its post-apocalyptic story about mechs defending the human race from giant monsters known as klaxosaurs captured the imaginations of viewers.
Cosplayer ‘prototype.fox’ is clearly a massive fan of the show, and blew fans away with her perfect take on the anime’s lead character Zero Two, showing off her incredible version of the character’s outfit in a number of pictures uploaded to her Instagram account.
In Darling in the Franxx, humanity has been forced back by klaxosaurs, and now live in cities called ‘Plantations.’ In an attempt to fight back against the creatures, adults artificially create children known as parasites, who’s sole purpose is to pilot the massive mech robots known as Franxx in the war against the klaxosaurs. While there are many skilled pilots, perhaps known are more talented than main character Zero Two.
Prototype.fox is clearly a massive fan of the character, and has displayed two different outfits that Zero Two is seen in throughout the series, with photographer ‘ssnwwc’ capturing her in the mech pilot’s military uniform, a red dress with a white shirt and yellow tie, complete with patches marking her rank on the sleeves.

The cosplayer also showed off the character in her original 9’s pistil suit, a bright red bodysuit with white accents across her torso and legs. Zero Two’s pink hair is unmistakable, while her small red horns are present on top of her head to show the character’s half-klaxo side.
The anime was well received by both Japanese and European audiences, although some felt that the final battle between the humans and the alien species known as VIRM was a little rushed.
At this time, there’s no plans for the series to continue, so fans of the anime will have to make do with the manga for the time being.
