Demon Slayer was one of the breakout anime shows of 2019, connecting with millions of fans over its riveting themes. The series centers on 13-year old Tanjiro Kamado who sets out on a journey to avenge his family who were killed by demons.
A Tik-Tok user’s unique cosplay of the protagonist went viral when they posted a video of their pet duck portraying the character. Fans will be sure be wowed by the bird’s epic performance.
Viral Tik-Tok brings Demon Slayer protagonist to life
In the show’s plot, Tanjiro’s sister Nezuko is the only surviving member of his family after they are brutally killed. Unfortunately, she ends up becoming cursed and transforms into a demon herself.
A hilarious Tik-Tok showed a cosplaying duck named Tito portraying the protagonist, with the animal wearing a box on its back, which the character in the show wears to carry his sister during the daytime.
In the video we see the duck draped in Tanjiro’s green and black checkered kimono as he takes off with the show’s opening song blasting. The post was shared on the bird’s Twitter account on January 28, and quickly went viral.

The animal also has his own Instagram account with over 25k followers. Apparently the bird has been a big hit with Demon Slayer fans as his post on September 21, 2019 had over 5,000 likes as he posed with Kamado’s katana on his side.

Tito even collaborated with prolific cosplayer Stella Chuu who dressed up as cursed demon Nezuko. The two posed next to each other as the talented artist wore contact lenses to capture her pink eyes.
The adorable cosplay of the siblings came together at Crunchyroll’s Expo in 2019. The Instagram caption echoed the show, stating, “The bond between Nezuko and me, can’t be severed by anyone!”

Demon Slayer originally made its debut in the popular Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2016, but became a household name in the anime world with its adaptation in 2019 by studio Ufotable.
