Female cosplayer shares fiery take on Avatar: The Last Airbender’s Zuko

A talented cosplayer wowed fans with her scorching take on Avatar: The Last Airbender’s Prince Zuko, and restored the popular character’s honor with an incredible female twist.

The Last Airbender originally aired in 2005 on Nickelodeon, and took the animation world by storm as its mix of lovable characters and mature themes connected with fans from around the world.

Centered around a story about a monk named Aang, the protagonist is the Avatar and is the only person who can bend all four elements of earth, air, water, and fire. He is tasked with mastering them to bring balance to everything.

A skilled cosplayer brought troubled prince Zuko to life, who is in search of his honor throughout the series, and gives the popular character an amazing twist.

Zuko brought to life with fiery cosplay

Zuko is the banished prince from the Fire Nation who wants to gain back his honor by capturing the Avatar, with the hopes of one day being able to return to his kingdom and regain his royal title.

Cosplayer ‘nishi.artist‘ perfectly recreated his iconic burn scar around his left eye, which he received after his father Ozai – the ruler of the Fire Nation – scorched his face after questioning one of his decisions.

The complicated character goes through many changes during the three seasons of the show, but the cosplayer’s take is from his third season arc, when our heroes are stuck in Fire Nation territory.

Nishi takes it up a notch with her stunning photography which she captures outdoors in fitting locations, bringing realism to her costume as it’s almost like a scene from right out of the show.

Due to Zuko being royalty and his easily recognizable scar, the prince has to hide his face with his outfit during the final chapter of the series, as he and the heroes are stuck in enemy territory.

The beautiful costume captures his flowing red cloak, as well as his golden sash and trimmings, which run down to the character’s boots, as the artist nails the traditional Fire Nation attire.

Avatar fans have a lot to look forward to as Nickelodeon announced in October that they are re-releasing the entire series on Blu Ray with a collectors edition steelbook, although they are only making 20,000 of them.

Netflix also announced that they are bringing back the beloved animation in 2020 with a live-action remake, making for the perfect celebration for the show’s 15th anniversary.
