A cosplayer’s incredibly detailed costume of Demon Slayer’s Shinobu Kocho went viral on social media, wowing fans by bringing the Insect Pillar to life and transforming into the popular anime character.
Demon Slayer took the anime world by storm in 2019, as millions of fans were gripped by the show’s dark plot about a teenager’s quest to avenge his family after they are brutally killed by demons.
A popular cosplayer shared her jaw dropping take on Shinobu Kocho, and had fans going wild by how much she looked like the fierce swordsman with an amazing true-to-life costume.
Demon Slayer’s Shinobu comes to life
In the show’s story, protagonist Tanjira Kamado joins the Demon Slayer corps led by the strongest swordsman in the organization called the Pillars. Shinobu is among their ranks with her Breath of the Insect power.
Cosplayer mk_ays shared her incredibly accurate costume of the character on social media, and it is one of the closest takes we’ve seen to someone pulling off the warrior’s look to perfection and how we imagine the character would look like in real life.

The talented artist’s portrayal of the anime heroine was a big hit with Demon Slayer fans and had them gushing, as many were impressed with how detailed her outfit was. In the comments, ‘vicitiaraputri’ exclaimed, “Your Shinobu and Kanae are so da*n PERFECT!!!!!” while user ‘m_h.966’ said, “Very beautiful as the beauty of the assassin of demons.”
Ays shared more photos of her costume on Instagram, and showed off the amount of work that went into completing the look by recreating her white and black lined Kimono with multi-colored sleeves.

Taking it to the next level, the Russian artist uploaded a video that went viral with over 31k views that shows her pulling off Shinobu’s black and purple parted hair, becoming Shinobu with what could be a scene from the show.

She also shared another shot of her posing with the Pillar’s signature katana, which has a flower shaped hilt while enchanting butterflies sit on her sword, tying the whole costume together for an incredible portrayal of the Demon Slayer character.

Demon Slayer originally debuted as a manga in 2016, but exploded in popularity with its anime adaptation by Studio Ufotable, becoming the breakout show of 2019.
