Prolific artist Ely Cosplay went viral when she transformed herself in Sword Art Online’s blue-haired sniper Sinon. Her faithful re-creation of the Phantom Bullet arc heroine will leave fans stunned.
Sword Art Online is one of the most popular anime properties in the world. Adapted from the light-novel series written by Reki Kawahara, millions have connected with its epic virtual reality MMORPG concept.
Talented cosplayer Ely brought one of the show’s most beloved characters Sinon to life with her jaw-dropping costume. The depiction is so accurate, it’s almost as if the deadly sniper has jumped from out of the screen.
Sword Art Online’s Sinon comes to life
The series is about a highly-advanced virtual reality system that allows players to truly live in a fantasy game world. Sinon is first introduced in the Phantom Bullet arc, and is the avatar created by student Shino Asada.
Ely Cosplay shared her take on the sniper, and posed with the heroine’s iconic weapon in her hands. In the story, the legendary rifle is called the ‘PGM Ultima Ratio Hecate I’ and was obtained by the character after defeating a dungeon boss.
The gun looks so real, it could easily be mistaken for a prop from a live-action film adaptation of Sword Art Online. The artist nailed Sinon’s look by creating her short blue hair, and capturing her striking indigo eyes.

The artist’s photo shows off the insane amount of work that went into recreating the avatar’s detailed attire. The patterns on the cosplayer’s bodysuit are truly amazing, and even lead into the heroine’s signature black shorts.
In the game, the sniper wears a military desert green desert coat, and a white muffler around her neck to protect her from the elements. She even captured little details, like her ammo pouches, and her iconic black hair clips.
Ely also tackled Sinon’s second appearance later in the series, and it’s absolutely adorable. Her ruffled blue hair now turns into cat ears, and she even has a tail. The cosplayer traded in her prop gun for the character’s iconic bow.
