G2 Esports put their CSGO team through a special “training session” after a disastrous round at the StarLadder 2019 Berlin Major abruptly ended their match.

The French powerhouse has big names attached to its roster with the likes of Kenny ‘kennyS’ Schrub, François ‘AmaNEk’ Delaunay, and more representing the G2 army – making their gaffe against Astralis even more surprising.

Going against the Danes in a best-of-one, G2 successfully overwhelmed Astralis in a surprising B retake on Nuke. But the Frenchmen forgot one crucial detail in the round as the map was empty of any T-sided players, as the bomb still managed to go off.

The flurry of memes and surprised reactions from CSGO fans and pros alike has led to the ultimate spoof by G2 for how they’ve been training their players.

In the October 14 video, G2 newcomers Nemanja ‘nexa’ Isaković and Nemanja ‘huNter-‘ Kovač sat down with the French trio to teach them everything they need to know about CSGO’s bomb.

Even without the pressure of being down 15-7 against Astralis, the video jokingly hinted that Audric ‘JaCkz’ Jug had a hard time deciphering what the “calculator”-like device in CSGO actually was.

The highlight of the video has to be the Q&A segment with star player kennyS, after being asked what to do when all T-sided players have been eliminated with the bomb being planted.

“I save the AWP,” the world renown AWPer said. “It’s Jame time.”

The odd moment was a low point for the G2 army at Berlin.

It had to take a confused AmaNEk to look up what to do with the bomb on his phone, which seemed to “impress” his countrymen, to say the least.

Living down the hilarious mistake during the Berlin Major might take a while, but G2 themselves are hoping the special training helps out in the long haul: “Let’s see if this lesson helped at all.”

In their latest outings, G2 managed a 9-12th placement at DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019, a 3-4th finish at ESL One New York 2019, and a 3-4th spot at the IEM Beijing 2019 Qualifier.

G2 are known throughout the esports world as one of Europe’s biggest memers, and the response to their insane gaffe against Astralis is being well-received.
