CD Projekt CEO has hinted at the possibility of a multiplayer feature being included in the next Cyberpunk 2077 game.
Despite a rocky launch filled with game-breaking bugs and missing content, Cyberpunk 2077 has had a major resurgence in the past few years.
The launch of its first big DLC, Phantom Liberty, brought players back to the game in droves and in some ways, transformed the experience into a whole new product.
The dev team even thanked fans for sticking with the title despite its underwhelming launch, Quest Director Pawel Sasko expressing his gratitude to fans in a recent interview with TheNeonArcade.
“Look at the reception of Cyberpunk right now, how it has turned out,” Sasko said. “Look at the reviews, look at the videos, the discourse around the game. The fact that you guys come back to the game, play it again and have fun.”
In light of this, fans are excited to see what developer CD Projekt does with the game as it continues to grow as well as what the company has planned for a future sequel.

Particularly, if the sequel will manage to have a multiplayer feature. After all, Cyberpunk 2077 fans were promised a multiplayer experience for the original game, this mode scrapped shortly after the game launched due to its tumultuous release and initial struggles.
However, in a new interview with Reuters, CD Projekt CEO Adam Badowski hinted that the studio is “considering” returning to this area and adding multiplayer elements for the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel which is currently known under the official codename Orion.
Though Badowski added that he “would not discuss details” on the feature until the dev team has a greater idea of how they plan to implement it.
Recently, the devs stated that Cyberpunk 2077 was simply a “warm up” for the franchise and that the company plans on expanding their new IP to even greater heights as they move forward.
So while there is currently no confirmation that the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel will include multiplayer, this new update teases the door is certainly open.
