With The Final Shape being Destiny 2’s last expansion in the Light and Darkness Saga, Bungie is breaking the sandbox wide open with a wealth of game-changing loot. Here’s all the new Exotics in Destiny 2 The Final Shape, including weapons, armor, and Class Items.
A decade since Guardians were first brought to life by Peter Dinklage as the original Ghost, the Light and Darkness Saga is now drawing to a close. The Final Shape’s launch has changed Destiny 2 in so many ways, including the addition of new Exotic Weapons.
With a wide range of new Exotics being added in The Final Shape, Guardians have more options than ever to optimize their meta Hunter builds, Titan builds, and Warlock builds. To make sure you aren’t using suboptimal weapons, it’s important to be aware of everything that has been added.
From meta Exotic weapons to game-changing Class Items, there’s plenty for you to try out. Here’s the full rundown on every new Exotic in The Final Shape.
How many new Exotics are there in Destiny 2 The Final Shape?
The Final Shape adds 15 new Exotics to Destiny 2’s arsenal. That includes all of the new weapons, armor, and Class Items introduced in the new expansion. Furthermore, another Exotic is expected once the new raid is released.
For comparison, both Lightfall and The Witch Queen brought 13 new Exotics each to the sandbox. You have to go back to 2020’s Beyond Light to find an expansion with fewer new additions at just 12.
All new Exotic Weapons in Destiny 2 The Final Shape
Ergo Sum
- Weapon Type: Sword
- Element: Kinetic, but changes to match random Exotic Perk
- Exotic Perks: Transcendent Duelist, One of eight existing Exotic Perks based on roll
- Catalyst: No catalyst currently available
Ergo Sum is the first-ever Special ammo Sword in Destiny 2, and also one of the most unique Exotic weapons ever added. This powerful Sword rolls one of eight Exotic Perks taken from previous Exotic Weapons, including Gjallarhorn’s Wolfpack Rounds of all things. Only time will tell how good Ergo Sum is, but there’s a lot of fun to be had with this weapon for sure.
Khvostov 7G-0X
- Weapon Type: Auto Rifle
- Element: Kinetic
- Exotic Perks: The Right Choice, Shoot to Loot
- Catalyst: No catalyst currently available
The familiar Khvostov Exotic Auto Rifle returns in The Final Shape. With a long history in the franchise, this AR was technically the first weapon Guardians ever used in vanilla Destiny, broken sight and all. It now returns, with its new Exotic perk The Right Choice making every seventh shot bounce and ricochet to nearby targets.
Microcosm
- Weapon Type: Trace Rifle
- Element: Kinetic
- Exotic Perks: Paracausal Beam, Paracausal Imbuement
- Catalyst: No catalyst currently available
Rounding out the new Exotic Weapons in The Final Shape is the Microcosm, the first ever Heavy Trace Rifle. Specifically designed to take down enemy shields, this Exotic gains a massive boost when targeting shielded foes. It also grants Super Energy and Prismatic Energy on final blows making it a great choice to use with the new subclass.
Red Death Reformed
- Weapon Type: Pulse Rifle
- Element: Solar
- Exotic Perks: Redemption, Inverse Relationship
- Catalyst: Helping Hand
With Pulse Rifles getting a huge buff in The Final Shape, it’s only fitting that an Exotic Pulse Rifle would be released. To fill that role is Red Death Reformed, a reimagined version of a Destiny classic. This time around, this Exotic provides easy access to Cure and healing, while also gaining stats as you deal damage.
Still Hunt
- Weapon Type: Sniper Rifle
- Element: Solar
- Exotic Perks: Cayde’s Retribution, Sharpshooter
- Catalyst: No catalyst currently available
Still Hunt is a new Exotic Sniper Rifle that rivals Izanagi’s Burden. Much like Izanagi’s, this weapon can unleash a devastating charged shot. Unlike Izanagi’s, that charged shot is actually a Golden Gun shot that even synergizes with Celestial Nighthawk. This can result in some incredible DPS rotations if you set things up correctly on either a Solar or Prismatic Hunter.
Tessellation
- Weapon Type: Fusion Rifle
- Element: Kinetic
- Exotic Perks: Property: Undecidable, Property: Irreducible
- Catalyst: Property: Unavoidable
Tessellation was the first new Exotic revealed, with it first being available as a pre-order bonus for The Final Shape. While it has been usable since Season 22, Tessellation has only now come into its own with its unique ability to become any damage type working well with Prismatic. Equally, Fusion Rifles deal 7% more damage in the new expansion, a buff that also applies to Tessellation’s powerful grenade ability.

These are all of the new Exotic Armor sets added in Destiny 2 The Final Shape for Hunter, Warlock, and Titan:
All Hunter Exotics in The Final Shape
Gift Conviction
Packing one hell of a punch is the Gift Conviction Exotic, with its Exotic Perk ‘The Gift of Certainty’ granting the following effects: “Activating Ascension or Tempest Strike throws bouncing explosives at nearby targets that jolt and damage them. Jolting nearby targets grants you damage resistance.”
Balance of Power
Giving Hunters a taste of what Warlock’s have with Swarmers, Balance of Power’s Exotic Perk Double Down grants the following effects: “Your Threaded Specter has increased duration and durability, and damaging it releases additional Threadlings. While near your Threaded Specter, you do not appear on radar.”
All Titan Exotics in The Final Shape
Hazardous Propulsion
If you are in the business of dealing as much damage as possible, Hazardous Propulsion is the Exotic for you. This Armor’s Exotic Perk Danger Close grants the following effects: “Weapon precision hits or final blows have a chance to load a Kinetic Exodus rocket. Activating your class ability fires loaded Exodus rockets. Damaging targets with Exodus rockets increases the damage you deal with all other rockets.”
Wishful Ignorance
Wishful Ignorance gives some power back to Strand Titans which was lost in The Final Shape’s nerfs, with its unique perk Wish-Dragon’s Talons having these effects: “Gain an additional Frenzied Blade charge. Frenzied Blade and Flechette Storm briefly increase their damage with each strike. Pulses from your Banner of War return melee energy based on the number of allies healed.”
New Warlock Exotics in The Final Shape
Mataiodoxia
Suspend your enemies in the air with Mataiodoxia’s Stylostixis, an Exotic Perk that grants all of these effects: “Targets damaged by Arcane Needle emit a suspending detonation when defeated, and landing multiple Arcane Needles on the same target triggers a larger, more powerful detonation. Defeating suspended targets grants melee energy. Your Arcane Needles are strong against Barrier Champions.
Speaker’s Sight
The Speaker’s Sight is perfect for any support Warlock player, with its Exotic Perk The Lost Voice granting these benefits: “Healing grenades spawn a Restorative Turret. Healing allies occasionally spawns an Orb of Power.”
