Bungie has revealed some information about Destiny 2’s next raid coming in Season 18

Much about Destiny 2 Season 18 remains under lock and key, though Bungie has already confirmed an August 23 release date for the new content drop alongside a reveal event for Lightfall, the game’s next expansion.

Akin to those that came before, Season 18 will feature plenty for Destiny players to sink their teeth into. For example, in addition to another raid, Bungie intends to deploy sandbox-related changes, weapons, and gear.

The big question, however, has been which of Destiny 1’s raids would be returning, with the Destiny Content Vault reprising Vault of Glass last year.

In the developer’s latest blog, Bungie says that the raid will go live at 10 AM Pacific on August 26.

There are also the following to consider for anyone looking to take part in the world’s first race:

  • The raid will launch with Contest Mode enabled for 24 hours.
    • You will need to be at 1560 Power to be at the cap for all of the encounters.
  • Clearing the raid with Contest Mode active is the first step to access the new Challenge Mode in the Director and the special Triumph for completing all of the challenge Triumphs for each encounter.
  • Completing the secret Triumph, a curated list of challenges in this newly unlocked Challenge Mode, will be how a fireteam crosses the World First finish line and claims their prize.
  • To enforce the Triumph requirements in the Challenge Mode, your team will wipe if you fail the success conditions during any encounter.

Sadly, though, the raid itself is still under wraps, leaving fans wondering which of the first game’s raids it’ll be.

The King’s Fall raid from The Taken King expansion counts as one such possibility. As far as the Destiny community is concerned, content from this particular era would make the most sense given that Year 5 has focused so heavily on The Witch Queen, sister to Oryx – the Taken King.
