Destiny 2‘s latest rendition of its iconic Summer event has arrived, with Solstice 2024 introducing four new weapons for Guardians to farm god rolls on.
These are Compass Rose, Crowning Duologue, Fortunate Star, and Something New, with three being reissued weapons and one making its first appearance.
In past years, Solstice has been criticized for failing to evolve either the PvE meta or PvP meta. However, this year is different, with all four guns having something to offer and a couple of them even being top-tier.
Here are all the god rolls you’ll want to farm for each weapon available in Solstice 2024 before the event ends on August 27.
Compass Rose god roll
This Solar Shotgun excels in the Crucible thanks to its stacked perk pool, and this is the PvP god roll you’ll want to farm:
- Barrel: Smoothbore
- Magazine: Assault Mag
- Perk 1: Threat Detector
- Perk 2: Opening Shot
This weapon is an incredible option in PvP, offering the same meta perks as Matador 64, the Crucible’s most dominant legendary Shotgun. The perk combination of Threat Detector and Opening Shot is as proven as any, giving this gun incredible lethality on its first shot, perfect for one-tapping Guardians.
High-skill players may also want to consider Slickdraw, which boosts Compass Rose’s handling to 100 but reduces target acquisition. Ordinarily, this perk isn’t great, as an inaccurate gun is a worthless one. However, you can get away with it on a Shotgun since most of your gunfights will be at close range anyway.
Crowning Duologue god roll
A spectacular glow-up this year has turned Crowning Duologue into easily the best Strand Rocket Launcher, with this PvE god roll making it undoubtedly meta:
- Barrel: Volatile Launch
- Magazine: Impact Casing
- Perk 1: Reconstruction
- Perk 2: Bait and Switch
When it was first introduced last year, Crowning Duologue was a meme. Its perk pool was targeted at add clear, but nobody uses Rocket Launchers for anything but DPS, so it didn’t see much use. Thankfully, Bungie has learned their lesson, and things are very different this time around.

This reissued variant is incredible, offering Reconstruction and Bait & Switch, a perk combination that made Apex Predator meta, and has now done the same for Crowning Duologue. While this is the best damage roll, Envious Assassin is another interesting option that allows you to load several rockets at once for the easiest DPS rotation imaginable.
Fortunate Star god roll
The new Void Bow added in Solstice 2024 is extremely good, especially with this unique PvE god roll that can’t be gotten on any other Combat Bow:
- Bowstring: Tactile String
- Arrow: Fiberglass Arrow Shaft
- Perk 1: Archer’s Tempo
- Perk 2: Kill Clip
Lightweight Bows are typically an acquired taste, but Fortunate Star is the exception, as anyone can dominate with this. Its ability to roll Kill Clip makes the newcomer sensational, with this perk proccing after every final blow, providing a near-constant 25% damage buff with no additional effort.
Fortunate Star is just one of two Bows to roll Kill Clip, with the other being Whistler’s Whim, a weapon exclusive to Trials of Osiris. However, the Void Bow is a much better PvE weapon than its Trials counterpart, as Archer’s Tempo gives it a sensational draw time of just 459 ms, boosting DPS considerably.
Something New god roll
While Something New is the weakest of the four weapons available this year, the Stasis Hand Cannon is still a solid option. To get the most out of it, you’ll want to farm this PvP god roll:
- Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
- Magazine: Accurized Rounds
- Perk 1: Snapshot Sights
- Perk 2: Precision Instrument
Something New isn’t that new anymore, but this reissued variant does at least bring something new to the table. Most notably, it is the only Hand Cannon that can roll both Snapshot Sights and Precision Instrument, which is a strong combination in PvP where Aggressive Hand Cannons excel.
Snapshot Sights makes the Hand Cannon much snappier, mitigating its otherwise terrible Handling. As for Precision Instrument, this perk boosts damage when shooting at long range, letting you three-tap enemy Guardians from just about anywhere. However, even this unique combination isn’t necessarily meta, with the Stasis gun’s slow reload holding it back.
