Diablo 4’s community director, Adam Fletcher, has advised players to hold onto all of their unused Uber Uniques for a future patch.
Uber Uniques represent the rarest items players can find in Sanctuary. Equipping them activates powerful effects capable of significantly boosting a character build. Even the Seneschal Companion introduced in Season 3 comes with Uber Uniques of its own.
The community’s not exactly gungho about the current implementation of these items, however. Some think they’re too rare and, therefore, ultimately pointless. Yet, others appreciate the challenge and the way in which Ubers can augment the experience.
It appears that Blizzard plans on fine-tuning the system in the not-too-distant future, given that one developer is telling players to hang onto the Uber Uniques they’ve collected.
Diablo 4 dev prepares fans for upcoming Uber Unique update
A tweet from Global Community Development Director, Adam Fletcher, includes a PSA advising D4 users to keep all of their unused Uber Uniques. Without divulging too much, the developer noted that Blizzard has plans for “something in a future patch” that will impact the unutilized items.

Fletcher added the following in a post on the Blizzard Forums, “The team wanted to get a PSA out to users to hang onto these for now. We will have more information to share soon regarding this but felt it was important to give an early heads-up to players.”
As of writing, there’s no telling what the crew at Blizzard has in store for Diablo 4’s Uber Uniques. A potential salvaging and crafting system doesn’t seem too farfetched. Players would likely also welcome a trading system of some sort.
Notably, this PSA comes during a time when Uber Unique drops seem the most unbalanced. Some players have lucked out and collected several of these items, many of them copies of one another. It’ll be interesting to see how Blizzard iterates on the system going forward.
