Thanks to Diablo 4 Season 3’s latest patch, players can now find an “obscene” amount of loot while exploring vaults.
It didn’t take long for players to express their dislike of Diablo 4 Season 3 shortly after it arrived. Complaints were leveled against everything from the new mechanical companion and vaults to the traps and broken boss encounters.
Blizzard has taken the feedback in stride, issuing a few hotfixes to address as many hiccups as possible. A patch released on January 26 seems to have proven the most transformative by tweaking loot, the pet companion, and more.
Players seem especially impressed by the loot-related changes in vaults, with one user singing the patch’s praises in a recent Reddit post.
Diablo 4’s vaults feature a lot more loot than players anticipated
The January 26 patch introduced a handful of loot-related updates, such as increasing the drop rate of Unique Stones from Malphas. Plus, chests now appear once players wrap up a vault’s ending encounter.
Thanks to these new chests, users can expect to receive “a guaranteed Legendary item starting from level 26+, with a 35% chance to drop another Legendary item.”
Members of the Diablo 4 community are already celebrating the changes, with one Reddit user applauding the amount of loot to be found. They also noted, “Man, vaults after the last patch rule. They are fast, bunch of enemies, no backtracking I guess I’ll skip NM Dungeons completely.”

Other Diablo 4 fans were quick to join in and praise how much the vaults have changed. One person explained, “The amount of loot you get is just obscene. One vault is at least 1 1/2 inventory full of items.”
Another person added that thanks to the update, they were able to level up rather quickly without exploring Nightmare Dungeons. “Leveled all the way to 100 without ever going into a regular NMD. Only vaults with the 4 chest loot fountain at the end. No need to go into NMD’s anymore.”
Someone else echoed the above sentiment by saying, “there is no reason to do normal NM this season, vaults are super fast with great density.”
The loot and XP rewarded for completing vaults should make these tasks feel much more welcoming for players. And as one person put it, “And the best part: no backtracking because there are no dumb objectives.”
It’ll be interesting to see how else Blizzard refines the experience as Diablo 4 Season 3 presses on.
