The fan-favorite Team of the Year event is officially returning in EA FC 25, giving players the chance to vote for the standout performers in 2024.
Of all the events on the Ultimate Team promo calendar, few are as prestigious or popular as Team of the Year. This campaign lets you have your say on who the best players were over the last 12 months, awarding them with powerful TOTY cards.
EA have revealed the players who made the cut in the EA FC 25 Team of the Year, but there are some big names missing from the squad. Here’s everything you need to know.
EA FC 25 Men’s TOTY
Goalkeeper
- Emi Martinez (Aston Villa)
Defenders
- Grimaldo (Bayer Leverkusen)
- William Saliba (Arsenal)
- Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool)
- Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid)
Midfielders
- Rodri (Manchester City)
- Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)
- Cole Palmer (Chelsea)
Attackers
- Vinicius Jr (Real Madrid)
- Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
- Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid)
While many of those in the leaked team will come as no surprise, such as Mohamed Salah and Vinicus Jr, there are some notable omissions.
Arguably the biggest is Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, who misses out in favor of Kylian Mbappe. While City struggled towards the end of 2024, the Norweigan still finished the year with 49 goals for club and country — 10 more than Mbappe. Meanwhile, the Real Madrid star has struggled for form since arriving in Spain, which many thought would cost him a place in the squad.
Another player who might feel hard done by is Florian Wirtz, who played a starring role in Bayer Leverkusen’s unbeaten Bundesliga-winning season. Instead, Cole Palmer was awarded a spot after a breakout campaign, but you could argue that the Englishman, despite impressive numbers, didn’t take Chelsea to any silverware.
EA FC 25 Women’s TOTY

- Wendie Renard (Lyon)

- Aitana Bonmati (FC Barcelona)
- Guro Reiten (Chelsea FC)

- Sophia Smith (Portland Thorns)
When is EA FC 25 TOTY start date? Leaked schedule
The EA FC 25 TOTY promo gets underway on Friday, January 17, 2025, as confirmed by EA SPORTS.
But, as is tradition, not all of the TOTY cards will be released right away. Individual positions will have their time in packs before the entire squad comes at a later date, with attackers up first.
- Attackers: January 17
- Midfielders: January 19
- Defenders + goalkeeper: January 21
- Full team: January 23
- 12th man: January 24th
What to expect during EA FC 25 TOTY
The main draw of EA FC 25 Team of the Year will be the two fan-voted TOTY squads. The men and women who rack up the most votes will be handed heavily upgraded blue cards, which are often some of the best items in all of Ultimate Team and remain meta for the rest of the season.
There is also a 12th Man and 12th Women vote that takes place towards the end of the event. This gives you the chance to hand out a card to one of the players who narrowly missed out on the main squad, but still deserves recognition as one of 2024’s biggest stars.
On top of all that, leaks have revealed that TOTY Icons are set to return. These will be released into packs alongside the other TOTY items, but they’re likely to be extremely rare, so expect them to be very expensive if you try to buy one from the market.
Is EA FC 25 TOTY voting still open?
Voting for the EA FC 25 Team of the Year closed on January 12, so you’ve missed your chance if you haven’t already picked your squads. All that’s left to do now is wait for the winners to be officially revealed.
