An Elden Ring Nightreign player managed to defeat the game’s hardest boss in a single hit without using a single cheat.
FromSoftware’s roguelike spinoff of 2022’s critically acclaimed Elden Ring has proven its staying power since releasing back in May. As of July 2, Steam Charts records that Nightreign is still pulling in over 90k players daily on PC alone.
That retention is no doubt attributable, at least in part, to the studio releasing numerous free updates since launch, including amped-up, extremely difficult versions of existing bosses.
These Everdark Sovereigns represent some of the toughest challenges in any Soulslike and rotate in and out of availability weekly. Fulghor, Darkdrift Knight, a towering centaur, is currently in rotation and has proven to be the biggest challenge yet for all but one Nightfarer.
Sharing a clip on Nightreign’s subreddit, the user managed to defeat Fulghor with Ironeye’s Ultimate Art, obliterating the half-man, half-horse hybrid in a single hit.
What makes this feat particularly notable is that the player used no cheats; only equipment and synergies available in the game by default.
How did they do it?
While pulling off the very same feat in your own run is definitely possible, doing so will require a good amount of luck.

Key to this absurd power is the Grafted Blade Greatsword. As a rare Legendary armament, your best bet at finding one will be to defeat high-level world bosses or Evergaols. This colossal weapon has a unique passive effect, Power of Vengeance, which enhances every one of your chosen character’s stats with every enemy kill.
These increases are small, however, and, as your time is limited each day outside of boss fights, getting enough kills to boost a Nightfarer’s power beyond normal limits is only possible in a handful of situations.
You’ll need to get lucky and fight either Wormface or The Duke’s Dear Freja as an end-of-day boss, as both include infinitely respawning enemies you can kill for near-limitless stat boosts from Power of Vengeance.
If the stars align and you’re able to pull all of that off, congratulations, you, too, can one-hit any boss of your choosing.
