Popular YouTube family vloggers ‘The ACE Family’ took a sharp left turn from their usual arsenal of content after their Tesla broke down on the side of a highway in the middle of a video.
Catherine Paiz and Austin McBroom are some of YouTube’s top family vloggers, known for sharing videos of their everyday life with daughters Elle and Alaïa McBroom.
However, there’s more to this family than mere vlogs; the duo also releases their own music and music videos, as well as hosts an annual charity basketball tournament filled with other top content creators and even A-List celebrities.
It was during one of their normal vlogs, though, that an unfortunate event occurred — their Tesla (high-priced electric vehicles) ran out of juice while they were driving on the highway, leaving both YouTubers stranded on the side of the road.
The pregnant Catherine stepped outside of the car as husband Austin spoke to the camera, admitting that he’d thought 10% would have been enough juice to get them to their destination.
“ACE Family, you won’t believe what just happened to us,” McBroom sheepishly revealed.
“He said that 10% could get us to where we needed to go!” Catherine jibbed. “And we were at 1% still on the Freeway, and Austin was like, ‘No, we’re gonna make it! We’re gonna make it!’”

“So, we just pulled over just to be safe, and the car ended up dying anyway,” Austin continued. “We’re new to being part of the Tesla family. We don’t know too much about this car or what it could do, but it let us down.”

After jokingly sticking out a thumb in an attempt to “hitchhike” his way to their destination, the two were finally greeted by roadside assistance, which took their Tesla into a mechanic shop as well as gave them a ride.
The ACE Family’s misadventure just goes to show that no matter who you are or what your status, unexpected accidents can happen to anyone, leaving even top YouTube personalities stuck on the side of the road asking for help.
