The ACE Family is one of YouTube’s most popular family-oriented channels, but the group is receiving a slew of backlash after taking a short hiatus over the Christmas season.
Boasting over 17.8 million subscribers, the ACE Family is known for their wholesome, family friendly content, and annual charity basketball tournament, which features a slew of celebrities and top tier content creators.
However, both patriarch Austin McBroom and matriarch Catherine Paiz are coming under fire after deciding to spend their holiday away from the camera.
McBroom cleared the air on their sudden hiatus on December 23, claiming that both he and Paiz wanted to enjoy their Christmas celebration in private.
Despite this explanation, it seems that fans weren’t happy with this change in schedule, with some accusing the couple of going back on their promises.
first no vlogmas, now no “acemas”. these “promises” be getting real old..

These accusations appeared to strike a nerve in McBroom, who took to Twitter on December 28 to give his critics a verbal thrashing, even going so far as to ask them to unsubscribe if they are unhappy with the hiatus.
“For those of you getting upset because we haven’t posted in a few days, do us a favor and unsubscribe and stop watching our every move,” he wrote. “We know our loyal ACE Family members will understand that we need a lil’ break.”

McBroom went on to call those criticizing his break “ungrateful,” reiterating the grind of constantly creating content for an eager audience.
“Some of y’all are ungrateful for free content,” he continued. “Some of y’all should be charged every time you watch someone’s video. Idk why y’all think its just so easy to make videos everyday or every other day. If it was so easy everyone including yourself would be doing it.”

The ACE Family patriarch ended his spiel by assuring fans that he and Paiz will have “exciting news” upon their eventual return, although no hint has yet been given as to what this announcement might be.
I hardly ever rant but just know if you know us, whenever The ACE Family takes a break, it’s for a reason. Stay tuned cuz when our break is done we’re coming back stronger than ever with some exciting news. Love. Peace. Family 💙

Although the ACE Family is no stranger to controversy, it doesn’t look like McBroom is letting the the backlash get him down, promising to come back “stronger than ever” in wake of fan backlash.
