Popular Twitch streamer Kaitlyn ‘Amouranth’ Siragusa has returned from her latest ban after just over 24 hours of suspension, but her channel’s follower count took a massive hit, believed to be due to a glitch with the platform.
A similar incident occurred around the last time Amouranth was banned too, where she sharply gained and then lost hundreds of thousands of followers, for unknown reasons.
Although some speculated that it was an issue of bot accounts following before being deleted by Twitch, it appears that it’s an error with the platform when a channel is banned.
Before her ban on March 12, Amouranth had a total of 1.41 million followers – 2nd of all female streamers on Twitch, behind only Imane ‘Pokimane’ Anys. But, on March 13, this figure had dropped to 1.17 million.
When she was banned in September 2019, Amouranth gained a whopping 410,000 new followers in the seven days following the suspension. Then, these followers were seemingly wiped from her account only days later.
Stats via SullyGnome show a similar issue occurring after Amouranth’s March 2020 ban.
On her comeback stream on March 13, Amouranth addressed the follower count issue, believing it to be a bug resulting from the account suspension.

“The follower thing is going to be annoying for a little while. Every time you get banned, your follower count is down a lot… It dropped me by like 300,000 followers,” she explained.
The stats do show that her follower count is rising again, possibly set to make her technically the fastest-growing channel temporarily, as the glitch corrects itself.
There was previously speculation that the drama surrounding her ban in September had caused her follower count to shoot up naturally, as more people heard about her channel.
Amouranth successfully appealed her latest ban, meaning it only lasted just over a day.
