A judge has dismissed the assault case against Apex Legends YouTuber and Twitch streamer Thordan Smash.
On May 7, Judge David Karpel approved the motion to dismiss the case, in which the content creator faced charges of 2nd-degree assault and criminal mischief.
On December 21, 2023 Thordan Smash’s Twitch stream ended abruptly when an officer from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office entered the room. It was initially unclear what had caused the police response, with some speculation that the streamer had been swatted.
However, arrest records obtained by Dexerto showed that Thordan Smash, real name Jordan, was taken into custody on a felony arrest warrant. He was charged with second-degree assault (strangulation) and criminal mischief to the value of $300-$1000.
Following the dismissal, Thordan posted an update video to his YouTube channel, addressing the case.
Thordan Smash is a popular Apex Legends content creator, with over 220,000 subscribers on his channel. He has also participated in Apex Legends esports through managerial roles at GLYTCH Energy and Oxygen Esports. He parted ways with Oxygen Esports in October 2023.

After the initial news of his arrest and charges spread to social media, Thordan posted on X/Twitter: “I understand the allegations being put out about me. I look forward to clearing my name in the coming weeks, some of you may of seen the images that help clear my name I posted shortly ago but my attorney has let me know I cannot make those public yet and so they have been taken down but will return in due time.
“I would highly recommend people understand the concept of innocent until proven guilty.”
In the state of Colorado, 2nd-degree assault is a class 4 felony, and as a crime of violence, carries mandatory sentencing of five to 16 years in prison.
The YouTuber also faced a class 2 misdemeanor charge of Criminal Mischief ($300-$1000) – the aggregate damage to real or personal property. The case has now been dismissed.
Following his release on bond on Christmas Day, Thordan Smash returned to uploading YouTube content and streaming on Twitch.
