Twitch star Asmongold has explained why he feels like he doesn’t deserve Streamer of the Year nomination, telling his fans he thinks either Ibai or xQc should win the award.

Asmongold is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch. His impressive 3.3M followers put him among the very top streamers on the Amazon-owned platform.

However, while he’s one of the biggest streamers in the world, the 31-year-old Twitch star has explained why he doesn’t feel like he deserves to be nominated for Streamer of the Year.

In a clip posted to YouTube on July 2, the OTK co-owner explained to his massive following why he feels like he shouldn’t be nominated for the award. “Yeah, I did get nominated for Streamer of the Year. But, if you want me to be honest I don’t think I deserve it,” said Asmongold.

“The two people that deserve it are either Ibai or xQc. I think there’s no question that anyone else, maybe like one or two other people should be on that list. That’s about it. I didn’t even stream this entire year. I mean I didn’t even stream this whole year. Categorically, I shouldn’t be on the list,” Asmon argued.

“Obviously I do pretty well, my stream does well, but am I really doing anything super innovative? I think you could say OTK is sure. But, on a personal level, I’m just pretty much just sitting here talking, giving my opinion and playing video games every once and a while.”

Asmon further continued to explain what he thinks makes a streamer worthy of winning the award.

He added that he believes creators who have innovated and pushed the streaming community forward are deserving of the prestigious award.

However, it looks like xQc doesn’t fall under that criteria. Saying he “fell off”, xQc was completely left out of Streamer of the Year 2022 nominees.
