Rapper and internet celebrity Danielle Peskowitz Bregoli, better known by her stage name ‘Bhad Bhabie,’ has come under fire for a couple of controversial Instagram videos.
The videos, uploaded on April 6, show the rapper posing for the camera while rap music plays in the background. The “Catch me outside” girl didn’t caption either video, but users were quick to react to the 17-year-old’s makeup that made it seem like she had darker skin.
This prompted criticism on social media from people accusing the star of “cultural appropriation.”

On her uploads, many users attacked the artist for “changing races” with some saying she performed a reverse Michael Jackson.
The criticism continued and snowballed on Twitter where she started trending.
“Bhad Bhabie constantly cultural appropriating and half of you encourage that s**t,” twitter user itskiykiy wrote. “She does not know the struggle of black women but constantly parade around trying to be one. She’s known for being a disrespectful brat and got clout from it!”

“Bhad Bhabie is trying to be black so bad it embarrassing,” bleubirdOT7 chimed in.
Others were shocked at how the teenager now resembled a completely different race. Some users were even outright in denial that it was her in the videos.

Not everyone took offense to the makeup though. TayMasterChef defended the artist, claiming that she’s simply used the wrong shade of makeup.
Bhad Bhabie don’t look “black” like y’all sayin in that video, she jus look like she usin the wrong shade of makeup like a lot of y’all do

As of this posting, the 17-year-old has yet to address the criticism on Instagram or Twitter and there’s no indication that she’s even been made aware of the backlash.
Given Bhabie’s personality, it will be interesting to see how she responds to the uproar, or if she simply leaves the videos up on her Instagram account.
