Legendary pro Smash player Mang0 opened up about his recent ban from Twitch, comparing his punishment to other notable recent suspensions.
Mang0, real name Joseph Marquez, was banned from the streaming platform on January 6 after appearing to pass out drunk while broadcasting.
It was not the first time that the Cloud9 player had been intoxicated on stream. During a birthday celebration, Mang0 also fell off his chair after getting up to some mischief with his microphone.
“You just can’t pass out, apparently, which is understandable,” Mang0 stated on January 15 after his suspension was over. “I mean, I’m not mad that I got banned. I’m mad that I got banned for that stream.”
He added: “Don’t get me wrong, I deserved to be banned. I should have been banned many times. I’m just kinda mad that it happened on that stream and it was seven days [in length].
“I think that was harsh. That guy beat the shit out of his wife and got three days. I get a little stupid and get a week? Come on! Like, that makes no sense.”

Mang0, of course, was referring to Luke ‘MrDeadMoth’ Munday, who was banned after he was charged with attacking his pregnant wife off-screen.
Munday was actually banned for approximately 14 days, not three days, before his suspension was up. He then returned to the platform on December 30, but Twitch changed course and promptly deleted his account after receiving a number of complaints.
Mang0 fans flooded into the Smash star’s first stream back, and some arrived early enough to see him shotgunning a beer in celebration of his return.
