Popular Twitch streamer Dr Disrespect is officially developing his own television show after the “Leader of the Champions Club” inked a deal with Skybound Entertainment.
Skybound Entertainment is the multi-platform production company lead by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and will be working with Dr Disrespect, whose real name is Guy Beahm, on a series based on his iconic persona.
As it stands, the show is in the development phase, with Dr Disrespect and Skybound president David Alpert confirming that the show will focus on the story of how The Doc became the legendary gamer we know and love today.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Dr Disrespect explained that the show was “pretty early in terms of the creative and the direction we want to take it,” but confirmed that there had been discussions regarding the possibility of the series taking an animated form.
“The one thing I try to focus on is making sure everything stays consistent. You don’t want to lose the authenticity of the character. We’re trying to take things to the next level, and hopefully, we’ll have an effect that reverberates and legitimizes the world of streaming.”
Alpert says that the show will provide an opportunity to explore Dr Disrespect’s backstory, stating: “You can’t fully explore it in the stream itself, but getting inside that narrative is what got us excited.”

For those concerned that The Doc may be quitting streaming to focus on his show, Beahm confirmed that Twitch and the platform remains his “bread and butter right now,” and revealed that the Amazon-owned company had been “extremely flexible” in allowing him to work with Skybound.
Dr Disrespect already has a cult following on the streaming service, regularly drawing thousands of viewers to his live streams, and amassing more than 3.8 million followers to his channel.
As of yet, the series has yet to be picked up by a television network, with no current schedule slated for the show to start filming.
