Popular Fortnite player Ben ‘DrLupo’ Lupo is more than just an internet personality – he’s used his online fame to raise millions of dollars for charity, and now, he’s done it again in a mere four hours.
DrLupo teamed up with Florida-based gaming convention and charity event Guardian Con in late June, announcing his plans to hold a marathon stream to raise $1 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization founded to benefit children suffering from cancer and other terminal illnesses.
Of course, it wasn’t just any old stream: DrLupo also promised hilarious rewards for each goal met by his charity drive, as well as giving himself some extra, in-game challenges, and even holding an-off stream raffle.

From 8 AM to 12 PM, DrLupo’s four-hour block on June 23 saw incredible involvement from his viewerbase – resulting in a whopping $920,343.98 raised for charity within that time frame.
Understandably, the streamer had an emotional reaction to the amount raised, appearing to hold back tears while thanking his fanbase for donating to the organization.
“Thank you,” DrLupo said. “Thank you so much, to every single person that’s donated. To every single person that’s supported St. Jude. To every single person that’s gonna be at Guardian Con. To every single person that freakin’ loves gaming. And most importantly, from top to bottom, St. Jude.”
The streamer went on to thank viewers who weren’t able to donate, ending his stream by joking that he would need to take a break to “cry a little bit.”
DrLupo’s insane charity stream was met with praise from other major personalities across the net, with the likes of YouTuber Seán ‘Jacksepticeye’ McLoughlin and Fortnite pro Turner ‘Tfue’ Tenney offering him their congratulations.

This wouldn’t be the first time DrLupo has raised an incredible amount for St. Jude’s, by far: in fact, the streamer managed to raise over $1 million for the organization in late 2018, after holding a 24-hour livestream in December.
DrLupo is one of Twitch’s most popular content creators, boasting over three million followers on the site as of June 23.
