Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk indicated he was leaving Twitter, after saying he isn’t sure about the platform anymore.
Elon Musk, who currently boasts over 29 Twitter followers, announced he was “going offline” on the platform as he said he wasn’t sure about the “good of Twitter,” while mentioning that he thinks Reddit still seems okay.
He didn’t delete his account entirely, but he did replace his profile picture with a black image.

This led many fans to wonder if he’s actually serious about leaving Twitter. It would be a big deal if he never came back since he’s leaving behind such a large audience and has actually created a lot of fans in the meme community.
Elon Musk’s popularity has grown so much outside of SpaceX that he was able to crossover into the world of PewDiePie and even host an episode of Meme Review.
Musk isn’t leaving social media altogether, and it’s entirely possible he won’t even be gone for long. Since he mentioned he has no problems with Reddit as of yet, we can expect to still see him active and interacting with people there.

He would leave far too big of a void if he were to leave social media entirely so it’s good to see him at least stick around on one platform. Since his account isn’t deleted on Twitter, it does leave the door open for a return in the future.

Social media criticism has been pushed to the forefront as Facebook’s creator Mark Zuckerberg has come under fire for his handling of privacy and ads on Facebook.
On October 30, Twitter announced it would be pulling all political ads from the platform as a way to distance themselves from the controversy.
While Elon Musk didn’t go into great detail about his departure from Twitter, the timing could be tied to Twitter’s advertising decision. Time will tell if he ever returns to the platform.
