Popular British streamer Dimitri ‘Greekgodx’ Antonatos has revealed an insanely austere punishment for unruly Twitch viewers, which will see them banned from multiple channels on the platform.
Sitting at over 1.1 million followers on Twitch, Greekgodx is one of the most popular streamers in the world. He recently moved to the USA following his move to TSM as a full-time content creator.
He’s also known for his interactions with a group of US-based streamers. It’s with these friends that Greek has devised a seriously strict ban plan for Twitch viewers who break the rules.
“Nick’s making a program where, if one person’s banned from one person’s channel, they’re banned from all of our channels,” Greek said, on April 17. “So that means if you get banned from my channel, you’ll get banned from Soda’s (Sodapoppin), Nick’s (nmplol), Train’s (Trainwrecks) and every other streamer that’s gonna be on it.”
Essentially, the program being worked on will ensure that any banned viewer cannot interact with any of the channels of the streamers participating. It will stop one viewer from being abusive in one channel, and then simply changing channel when they are banned.
Nick ‘nmplol’ Polom followed up Greek’s announcement with some extra context, explaining why the program is necessary for some viewers.
He revealed that they still have to clear it with Twitch to check it’s allowed, but also that it’s going to be far more complex than Greek let on.
“Not everyone’s gonna have this power,” Nick said. “Not every mod is gonna have this ability… it’s only gonna be reserved for the worst offenders, like the guys that come in here and spam the ‘n’ word and stuff like that.”

A lot of the streamers’ viewers were shocked by the severity of the ban, but became more understanding as Nick explained the reasons for its implementation.
However, one Twitch streamer, Jinnytty, explained why it might be an issue. Jinny touched upon the “different standards” streamers have in regards to what is an acceptable comment and what isn’t.
She explained that “crumor” (cruel humor) can vary between channels and this may lead to a blanket ban that isn’t necessarily warranted.
However, Polom indicated that it would not be used ambiguously and that only clear acts of racism or hatred would be punished.
We’ll have to wait and see what form it takes, if Twitch do indeed allow it to be implemented on their platform.
