World-wide VTubing sensation Hololive are getting their first official game. Named Hololive ERROR, the horror title centers around a high school boasting all the agency’s top talents. Here’s what you need to know.
Hololive has already managed to take over live streaming and even the musical world. Now, they’re coming for video games too.
After months of speculation, Hololive ERROR has finally arrived. It’s Cover Corp’s first game featuring their mega-popular VTuber talents, with a focus on a number of their Japanese idols.
The game is now out for release in July 2022, so here’s how you can get your hands on it — and a brief synopsis for those a little scared for what their idols are about to get themselves into.
Hololive ERROR trailers & gameplay
Hololive ERROR was first teased in a three-minute trailer dating back to August 2021. The video is set in a dark, ominous school, with a person walking through the hallways. They meet Tokino Sora (Shino), Hololive’s first VTuber, who follows them around asking them “will you forever be my friend?”
The players’ hand then opens up while standing in one of the classrooms, showing a triangular token.
Later trailers and the website go deeper into this story. The main character is a journalist for an occult magazine who goes to investigate a high school before finding himself “entangled in a terrifying paranormal phenomenon.”
