Hololive member Minato Aqua has announced that she will be graduating from the VTuber agency at the end of the month in a shock announcement.
As shared by the official Hololive X/Twitter account, Minato Aqua will graduate on August 28, bringing an end to her six-year stay with the company.
The announcement confirmed, “Minato Aqua of Hololive 2nd Generation will be graduating on August 28th. We thank her for all she has done for us until now and are grateful for the support of fans who have been with her during her activities with us.”
Hololive then revealed that a graduation concert will take place on August 28, allowing fans to show their appreciation for everything she has done. Further details outlining specifics will be revealed closer to the event.
Minato Aqua herself would second this, posting on her X/Twitter, “Minato Aqua will be graduating from Hololive. The graduation broadcast will be on August 28th. I’ll run at full speed until the end, so please support me! Let’s make this the best summer ever.”
In a short follow-up stream detailing the announcement, Aqua revealed that her decision followed a difference in opinion between herself and management. Despite this, she requested that fans avoid speculating about specifics or spreading false information.

This tweet was met by a wave of other Hololive members paying tribute to Aqua, with the likes of Ookami Mio, FUWAMOCO, Shirogane Noel, and even Tokino Sora showing their appreciation.
It wasn’t just her work colleagues who were affected by the announcement, with many fans being equally emotional. One such viewer responded, “Much love for Aqua!!! It hurts but I’ll try and see her off with a smile.”
Others chimed in expressing their surprise, responding, “Not what I was expecting to see on the timeline tonight,” and “What? Even though there are many happy events this month, but suddenly there is sad news like this, to be honest, this makes me very shocked.”
Aqua’s graduation marks a huge event in Hololive history, with her being just the third Japanese member to graduate and the first in 2nd Generation. The likes of Yozora Mel and Uruha Rushia were previously terminated, but it’s rare for Hololive talents to walk away of their own accord.
