Snapchat Plus offers a variety of different exclusive and experimental features, but how can you tell if someone has a premium subscription?
In 2022, Snapchat introduced Snapchat Plus, a premium subscription that offers users an enhanced experience with exclusive features.
Snapchat Plus or Snapchat+ is a gateway to a series of special elements that are not available to free users on the platform. These include a special badge on profiles, the ability to keep Stories up for an extended period, custom emoji reactions, and more.
With these features, Snapchat Plus makes paid subscribers’ profiles stand out among millions of regular users. If you want to find out whether your friend has a premium subscription, here’s everything to know.
How to know if someone has Snapchat Plus
One primary indicator of a Snapchat+ subscription is the unique badge on a user’s profile. Subscribers are given a star badge, which is a white star with a black background, next to their display name. This is visible to anyone viewing their profile, making it a clear sign of their premium status.

Another feature exclusive to Snapchat Plus is the extended duration of Stories. Snapchat stories normally disappear after 24 hours, however, Snapchat+ users can keep theirs live for one week. If you notice that a friend’s Story’s been up for over 24 hours, they’re most likely using Snapchat Plus.
Finally, the ‘Post View Emoji’ is a feature only available for Snapchat Plus subscribers. When a Snapchat+ user views a snap, an emoji of their choice will appear next to their name in the sender’s Chat tab. So, if you see such an emoji next to a friend’s name after they’ve viewed your Snap, they are a Snapchat+ user.
What can people see with Snapchat Plus?
Subscribing to Snapchat Plus provides access to a range of exclusive features such as ‘Post View Emojis,’ ‘Story Rewatch Indicator,’ ‘Best Friends Forever,’ ‘Friend Solar System,’ and more.
