Popular YouTuber Josh Pieters pulled off one of the most epic pranks this year when he hired an Ed Sheeran lookalike and fooled everyone at the KSI vs Logan Paul 2 boxing event, including security and influencers.
The YouTube star uploaded a video on November 11 which documented the insane prank. “This is the story how I tricked 24 thousand people into believing Ed Sheeran was at a boxing match!” he laughed.
Pieters then went on to explain how they discovered a look alike that looks scarily like the pop musician, and they hired him through his manager to fly to Los Angeles for the event.
Shockingly, the group was able to go on the red carpet, where they tricked thousands of fans and reporters who ambushed the lookalike, thinking it was actually him. The pranksters then waltzed on through to the backstage bar where some of the world’s top YouTubers and influencers were hanging out before the fight.
Just like the public, they were instantly fooled, and famous personalities such as Roman Atwood, Daniel ‘KEEMSTAR‘ Keem, and Tana Mongeau not only believed it was Ed Sheeran, but posed for photos with the actor. Massively popular Instagram model Sommer Ray even went in for a hug.

Who is the Ed Sheeran look alike?
The actor is named Ty Jones, and is a 25-year-old is from Manchester, England. The Ed Sheeran clone has an Instagram account profile where he posts pictures of himself looking like the musician.
According to the YouTube video, he actually does bookings to perform impersonations of the pop icon, and the prank was the first time he had flown to the United States.
The YouTube star and his hired actor eventually had gotten so much attention that security escorted them to the VIP section, where they got placed ringside next to Rick Ross and Justin Bieber’s seats.
Although, they decided to leave before the pop star showed up, as he might have been able to tell it was a fake given he knows Sheeran personally. In the end they were never caught, and managed to fool everyone at the event, before coming clean in his YouTube video.
