Instagram model Nikki Banner, recently in the news for her relationship with YouTube star Jake Paul, spoke out on the incident in an interview with the Daily Dot.
While Banner admitted to flying out to California for a camping trip with Paul in late October, she says she went into it thinking that he and Costell were no longer a couple at that time.
Banner told Daily Dot that she “never would have gone” if she thought that Paul and Costell were still together or had a chance at reconciling.
Banner’s statement lines up with Paul’s Tweet on the subject, which claimed that he and Costell had broken up ‘a while ago,’ before the Tweet was posted on November 7.

However, her stint with Paul wasn’t all sunshine and roses; according to Banner, although she and Paul had “hooked up” on the first night of their camping trip, he was texting other girls the very next day.

In fact, Banner even claimed that Paul had asked her if he should hook up with model Joy Corrigan, as well as if he should mend things with Costell.

This claim aligns with DMs sent to Drama Alert host KEEMSTAR, who featured the story on November 5 – two days before Paul went public with his breakup.
“…he did do it to her, but he also did the same thing to me,” she said of the situation. “He lied to both of us. …I think it’s wrong for a guy to lie to everyone because of an image.”
Since then, Banner has been the subject of ample harassment via social media, and was even accused of breaking up the YouTube couple.
