Social media star Logan Paul revealed that he doesn’t want to be a YouTuber forever, hoping to branch out into other areas of media and content creation in the future.
In an interview with Access on December 18, Paul claimed that he is tired of the ‘YouTuber’ label, and wants to move on from his controversial past – namely, his widely denounced scandal from early 2018, where he filmed a deceased person for a vlog in Japan’s Aokigahara ‘Suicide Forest.’
“I see myself as so much more than the ‘controversial YouTuber’,” Paul explained. “I have a little bit of an uphill battle currently – my fault – but I think the stigma of being a YouTuber is getting old. It’s time for me to exceed expectations.”
Paul went on to admit that he has had to “censor” his content since the debacle, and finds it difficult to create content that his viewers will watch. Additionally, Paul claimed that he prefers his new ‘imPaulsive’ podcast to creating vlogs, arguing that it is harder for him to be “taken out of context” in such a setting.

The YouTuber also revealed that he is diving into the music industry, and expressed some concern that genre of choice may be a little bit “out there.”

Despite Paul’s rough start in 2018, his year has been successful overall, even landing in Forbe’s list of top 10 highest earning YouTubers with a projected yearly income of $14.5 million.
With his ‘imPaulsive’ podcast featuring celebrity guests like Josh Peck and Brendan Schaub, it looks like Paul is setting his sights on bigger prospects.
