UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov revealed in a Tweet on October 11 that the WWE had allegedly made contact with him.
“@WWE asked me to jump inside,” Khabib wrote. “What do you think, guys? #SmashLesnar #FakeFights”
This supposed contact follows Khabib’s post-match assault on McGregor’s Jiu Jitsu coach, which many fans have equated to the famed drama of professional wrestling.

While Khabib is currently facing suspension from the UFC for his actions during UFC 229, he has likewise threatened to quit the organization if his teammate Zubaira Tukhugov is fired for taking swings at McGregor during the chaos.
Although it is unclear whether Khabib meant the Tweet in jest or not, it could point to a major career change should he follow through with his threat.

This certainly wouldn’t be the first time the WWE has signed a former UFC fighter, either. Among the leagues of fighters who have crossed over to the WWE is mixed martial artist and Olympic medalist Ronda Rousey, who famously signed onto the organization after her defeat to Amanda Nunes and has since gone on to be the Raw Women’s Champion.
Khabib’s Tweet also sent a message to professional wrestler and mixed martial artist Brock Lesnar. While his current beef with McGregor takes the limelight, it looks like Khabib has already set his sights on another opponent.
Although Tukhugov has been pulled from his upcoming fight with Artem Lobov since the UFC 229 debacle, he has stated that he is hopeful of remaining with the the organization – although UFC President Dana White has claimed otherwise.
