Valorant star Kyedae ‘Kyedae’ Shymko has just revealed she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and will be starting treatment soon.
Kyedae has announced she has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a form of cancer of the blood and bone marrow, and will be starting treatment soon.
AML is a type of cancer that is rare in those under the age of 45. According to the National Cancer Institute, “approximately 60% to 70% of adults with AML can be expected to attain [complete remission] status after appropriate induction therapy.”
For clarification, those numbers are for people under the age of 60, and if the treatment is immediate. Unfortunately, the cancer can be lethal, and is widely viewed as the most fatal type of leukemia. The main method of treatment would be chemotherapy and targeted therapy drugs.

Kyedae is essentially Valorant royalty, as one of the biggest personalities in the space and partner to esports star Tyson “TenZ” Ngo. Being signed on to 100 Thieves as a content creator, she garners a large, loyal fanbase across a number of platforms.
She has over 2 million followers on Twitch, where she averages almost 10,000 viewers, but streams came to a sudden stop on February 21.
Upon revealing her diagnosis, an outpour of support came from many other streamers, Valorant pro players, orgs, and fans alike.

FaZe Clan too showed support to the queen of Valorant where they said, “sending love to you and your family, and wishing for the speediest of recoveries.”

And Minecraft superstar Sapnap wrote in support, “sending love and support, you got this.”
It seems Kyedae wishes to continue streaming throughout her treatment. While it’s unclear how “[her] body will react to the treatment,” she still plans on keeping fans in the loop moving forward.
Her last public appearance came recently at VCT LOCK//IN where she was interviewed with TenZ and fellow Sentinels player Zekken about the 100 Thieves match they were watching.
