Lil Nas X teased his brand new song, and it’s expected to reveal the dark underbelly of the music business.
Lil Nas X has always been outspoken in his music and real life. Unphased by industry expectations, the performer has pushed the boundaries of pop with bold musical fusions and fang-toothed lyrics.
From “Industry Baby” to “Montero (Call Me by Your Name),” Lil Nas X confronts his own personal truths as a way to reclaim agency. You’ll never find him not tearing down traumatic pasts to move forward to new horizons.
With a forthcoming release, Lil Nas X promises to throw the industry into a frenzy when his new song arrives everywhere soon.
When does Lil Nas X’s new song drop?
The upcoming track is titled “J Christ,” accompanied by cover art featuring the singer/rapper being nailed to a cross. “My single is dedicated to the man who had the greatest comeback of all time,” said Lil Nas X.
On TikTok, he teased the song. “Me knowing I’m about to expose the industry next Friday and realizing I need to watch my back for the next seven days,” the performer captioned.
Whether it’s a very real concern or simply part of promo, many fans grew worried over his comments.

“What does this even mean?” asked another.
“Stay safe out there,” said a fan.
“The music in the background lets me know it’s about to get messy,” wrote another, referencing the use of “Luxury (8Bit Remix)” by Darren the Muse.
The new song comes on the heels of Lil Nas X claiming he was entering his “Christian era.” “Y’all see everything I do as a gimmick. When in reality, I’m just an artist expressing myself in different ways,” he posted in response to a flood of messages. “Whether I’m a cowboy, gay, satanic, or now Christian, y’all find a problem! Y’all don’t police nobody else art like mine. Y’all hate me because I’m fun cute and petite.”
The highly-anticipated new song drops everywhere on Friday (January 12).
