A romantic wedding proposal was fumbled after the couple’s $1,200 ring fell into a lake before the man could even get down on one knee, and the bride-to-be has shared the incident on TikTok.
Picture finding the love of your life and spending years together before finally planning the perfect wedding proposal complete with a $1,200 ring for your bride-to-be.
Now, imagine the day comes and that wedding ring falls in the water just feet away from where you’re about to propose.
That is life for Ross Bamber, who fumbled the proposal to his bride-to-be, Geri Ashforth — and the whole incident has gone viral on TikTok.
Proposal fail goes viral on TikTok
On June 17, Ross Bamber shared his side of the proposal on TikTok.
In the video, he showed that he lit candles and had the ring in his pocket. “The setting is perfect, this cant goes wrong now. Home straight,” the video said.
However, as soon as he opened the ring box and went to get down on one knee… the ring fell into the water. According to BBC, Bamber and his friends put on their swimming shorts and goggles in an attempt to find the ring but were unsuccessful.

After processing what happened, Ross went to the jewelry store the next day to buy another ring and showed in the video that she said yes on the second attempt.
The bride-to-be, Geri Ashforth, also uploaded a clip of the incident to her TikTok channel as well, which has been viewed nearly four million times.
