Streaming star Tyler ‘Ninja‘ Blevins, who took his talents over to Mixer in August, has finally revealed what his annoucement with Microsoft is all about.
Ninja’s move to Mixer surprised a lot of people, but looking deeper under the hood, many suspected he was going to partner with Microsoft in one way or another outside of just streaming.
Before becoming synonymous with Fortnite, Ninja was a professional Halo player, which is a Microsoft exclusive franchise, and his fans have to wonder if he has something cooking behind the scenes to publicize the upcoming Halo: Infinite.

Ninja revealed an announcement was on the way with Microsoft but didn’t go into too much detail as he’s saving it for September 3. “Microsoft is hooking me up with a surprise for you guys,” he tweeted. “(It’s) the reason I have not been live yet but I get to reveal it tomorrow.”

In late August, Ninja went to the Microsoft headquarters and had lunch with many of the higher-ups at Microsoft, including the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, where he even revealed that he gave Spencer a signed copy of his book.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is making its way to PC sometime this year, beginning with Halo: Reach and it’s possible Microsoft could be using Ninja to publicize the launch of the title in the future. With Ninja’s roots with the Halo franchise, this seems like it could definitely be a strong possibility.
Before Fortnite, Ninja was a dominant Halo pro, bringing home four first-place finishes in tournaments in Halo 4 alone. His final Halo event was DreamHack Atlanta 2017 where he and his team finished in 7-8th place.
Either way, the streaming star will now become a part of two iconic Microsoft franchises and give eager Gears fans an extended look at what they can expect when they return to one of their favorite series.
