PewDiePie calls out racist commenters during nail-biting battle with T-Series

YouTube king Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg is in the midst of a close run with Bollywood music and film label T-Series, which is gunning against Pewd’s channel for the most subscribers on the video platform.

PewDiePie had a severely close call with the label on December 2, after which he revealed that he had been less than 15,000 subs away from defeat.

However, that wasn’t the only issue he addressed in his video over the debacle the following day – he likewise called out racist users who are using his feud with the India-based label to spew out hateful comments on videos across YouTube.

“Sometimes in these comments… you see… just really distasteful, unnecessary comments,” Pewds began, going on to address his own jokes about multiple countries. “I obviously made Indian jokes and stuff like that, but I do that of all countries, and this is not what I’m about.”

PewDiePie then mentioned the massive amount of attention he’s received due to his race with the label, stating that he’d prefer to use his current platform to fight back against the hateful comments.

“Why not just take that fact and redirect it to something more positive, and show that this fanbase… can do something positive, as well?” Pewds said of the issue.

PewDiePie’s current stance on the debacle could mark a major shift in light of his previous scandals, such as the incident where he received massive criticism for making an anti-semitic joke in order to comment on the state of freelance service Fiverr during early 2017.
