YouTuber Felix ‘PewDiePie‘ Kjellberg has weighed in on streamer Etika‘s recent troubles, comparing his “public breakdown” to FouseyTube’s 2018 antics.
Daniel Desmond ‘Etika’ Amofah found himself back in the news after he went on a lengthy Twitter rant that eventually led to him being taken into police custody and then to a hospital.
The very next day he punched a police officer and was again taken to a hospital, this time sectioned in a psych ward.
PewDiePie and T-Series have been in a constant battle to become number one on YouTube.
PewDiePie pleads with Etika to get help
It was a bizarre couple of days for Etika and everyone involved, but things have since cooled down, and PewDiePie, the most popular individual YouTuber on the platform has weighed in on the situation.
In his video, PewDiePie reacts to the clip of police coming into Etika’s apartment and listens to his interview on KEEMSTAR’s Drama Alert. He thinks it’s clear Etika is going through some issues, something that is clear to see from the outside looking in.
“It’s pretty clear he’s going through a public breakdown, I think anyone can see that,” Pewds said. “It seems very similar to what we’ve seen before with FouseyTube last year when he did FouseyCon.”

If unaware, FouseyCon was a disastrous event that led to an evacuation and cancellation following a bomb threat. Etika hasn’t tried to host an event yet so he’s not quite to that level.
PewDiePie appeared genuinely concerned for Etika, despite revealing he doesn’t know him personally but has featured his content a number of times on his own channel.
Etika last tweeted on May 1 and has gone dark across social media after dominating it for a couple of days. It’s possible he needed a break from the spotlight for a little bit of time after becoming a worldwide trend for a day.
