Russian Twitch streamer and professional poker player Lilya ‘Liay5’ Novikova has passed away after being electrocuted in her bathtub, according to multiple reports.
Novikova tragically passed away on June 13. The BBC reports that the 26-year-old electrocuted herself in her bathroom with a hairdryer in her Moscow apartment.
A neighbor of the streamer allegedly found her collapsed on the floor of her bathroom after receiving a call from her parents, who had been unable to get hold of their daughter for several hours.
All reports are indicative that the incident was accidental, and that there was no foul play involved. Some reports state that the hairdryer was faulty, but this is not yet confirmed.
The online Poker and streaming community has been mourning the loss of Lilya, with many sharing their condolences following news of her death.

Novikova, known online as Liay5, was well known for her Twitch channel where she regularly streamed to her 25,000 followers. She also had over 1.5 million channel views and was well regarded as a talented professional poker player.
She had a first class degree in Engineering from Moscow’s prestigious Bauman University, but allegedly turned down numerous mathematics and engineering jobs in favor of pursuing a professional poker career.
The streamer lived with her parents and was just four days away from her 27th birthday.
