Popular YouTuber Shane Dawson has dropped the official trailer for his upcoming documentary series – which tackles a subject far from his usual fare of YouTube stars and internet celebrities.
Dawson uploaded the trailer on January 18, after teasing the video with a screenshot on January 14.
Simply titled, ‘Conspiracy Series,’ the trailer shows Dawson and a slew of other individuals set to disturbing music, who appear to be shocked by what looks to be such technology as facial recognition, DeepFakes, and the Amazon Echo.
Dawson’s trailer included a few key details that revealed the series as a two-part special edition, with the first episode set to drop on January 30.
Dawson hinted that the series would take a drastic turn from his usual subject matter months beforehand, following the conclusion of his Jake Paul documentary in early October of 2018.

After throwing around the possibility of UFO sightings, the California wildfires, and even a discussion on YouTube’s widely-debated advertising algorithm, it appears that Dawson is taking a deep-dive into next-gen technology – more specifically, into privacy breaches created by such technology.
Dawson amped up the suspense by showing what appears to be sensitive documents, and even commented that he might need to contact his lawyer.

The YouTuber likewise admitted that the videos for the series could be over two hours long – possibly justifying its short length of merely two episodes.
After the success of his series covering Jake Paul, which saw record-breaking viewership that surpassed even major Netflix shows, fans can expect yet another strong entry in his series of documentaries that have taken the YouTube world by storm.
