Former CSGO phenom, Michael ‘shroud’ Grzesiek, an FPS veteran known for his extraordinary aiming prowess, has put Borderlands 3 to the test.
One of the most popular streamers on Twitch, shroud initially made a name for himself competing at the elite level in CSGO. The mechanical skill and game-sense is something that translates across the FPS genre as a whole, leading to many exciting streams when new games are released.
Borderlands 3 is one such game. Released on September 13, the latest installment in the beloved Gearbox franchise piqued the interest of shroud and was put to the test on stream.
On a September 16 broadcast, having just opened Borderlands 3 for the very first time, he combed through the PC settings until he discovered the key-binding section.
“The true test to any video game ever made, can I use mouse-wheel-down as an option?” he questions.
To his delight, the scroll wheel can actually be bound to a function in-game. Starting a round of applause for the developers, the FPS pro immediately binds his jump ability to scrolling the mouse wheel down, a surprisingly common tactic among professional CSGO players.
“You don’t know how many times I’ve played a game and they don’t even let me do that.”

Binding the jump function to the scroll wheel allows for much quicker and easier bunny hopping throughout FPS titles. However, it also serves to improve convenience for gamers with impeccable aim.
Rather than switching focus and shifting your hand to the spacebar in order to jump, simply scrolling the mouse wheel allows you to maintain focus on your aim without missing a beat.
Shroud recently discussed how the incredibly lengthy WoW Classic queues led him to stop streaming Borderlands 3, however he did disclose that he enjoyed his time with the game so perhaps he’ll continue his playthrough soon.
Recently discovered in Borderlands 3, it turns out that Dr Disrespect has his very own sniper rifle in the game, fondly titled ‘The Two Time.’ Here’s everything you need to know about the weapon.
