Jake Paul has confirmed that Tommy Fury has dropped out of their December 18 bout due to a reported “medical condition,” with former opponent Tyron Woodley set to step into the ring instead.
After months of exchanging blows online, a date for a real boxing fight between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury was finally set for December 18 back in October.
The tensions have been steadily rising since then, with both parties continuing to taunt each other via the internet.
“NOTHING can save you now,” Fury wrote to Paul in November. “DECEMBER 18th, you’ll see that you can’t come in my world and not get hurt.”
However, on December 6, there were reports from several sources that Fury would be dropping out of the fight, with Paul’s former opponent Tyron Woodley rumored to take his place. The YouTuber scored a split decision victory in their fight back in August.
After rumors emerged, Paul confirmed that Tyron Woodley would be stepping into the ring instead, in a video in which he described Fury as “boxing’s biggest b*tch.”

“He fumbled the biggest bag of his life. Now he will be watching at home paying me $60 instead of getting paid millions of dollars to fight me. I’ve fought with a broken nose, I fought sick, get the f**k over it, this is boxing,” he said. Jake added that he would pay Woodley $500,000 extra if he can knock him out.
