Twitch streamer Quantifiable picked the absolute worst possible time to go AFK while playing Sea of Thieves as her ship came under attack from the Kraken, leaving her crewmate screaming for his life.
When Rare revealed Sea of Thieves back in 2015, the open-world cartoon pirate game was received with much fanfare as players looked to capitalize on the multiplayer title with some entertaining gameplay.
Despite having a few bumps along the way, including a pretty rocky launch, the game has hit a patch of smooth sailing as content updates and stable servers have got players hopping aboard a ship and searching for fortunes on the high seas. However, one thing that may never change is its ability to create absolute hilarious highlights – especially when you take your eye off the ball.
During her January 12 stream, Quantifiable, a growing broadcaster, had been playing the multiplayer pirating title when she needed to jump away for a moment – leaving her crewmate all alone on their Sloop ship.
However, as quickly as she hopped away, her ship came under attack from the beastly Kraken and a computer-controlled Skeleton ship. “Um, we just stopped. Kraken maybe? Quant! Quant,” her teammate called out in a panic.

The shouting seemed to work, however, as the streamer quickly replied that she had to go AFK, yet, not even she could believe what had happened. “I literally went AFK for a minute and this is what happens, are you f**king kidding me,” Quantifiable said, turning to look at the Kraken that had become wrapped around her sloop.
As anyone who has played Sea of Thieves well knows, you can fight off the Kraken, but it’s a difficult task if you’re running with a Sloop that only has two cannons and you’re also taking fire from skeletons.
That meant that the streamer was ultimately confined to the Ship of the Damned, needing a respawn to get her back in the game. Maybe next time though, the game will be a little more lenient with its timing and let her return from a mini timeout.
