Matt and Abby Howard have become some of TikTok’s most well-known couples after starting to make videos in 2020. But not everything has been smooth sailing for them.
Over the last few years, Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, Addison Rae, and more have proven that TikTok is the perfect platform for going viral. That is, assuming your content is something fans want to watch consistently.
TikTok creators Matt, 26, and Abby, 25, are even more proof of that idea, as they’ve amassed over 5.3 million followers on the short-form video platform where they make videos together, and now also host their own podcast all about life as a married couple starting their own family.
Who are Matt and Abby on TikTok?
With over 5.3 million followers on TikTok, Matt and Abby Howard are one of the platform’s most popular family creators.
Having met in high school, the duo went on to attend college together at Missouri State University, where Abby planned on becoming a doctor while Matt was setting himself up to work at a finance company. However, these plans changed when they discovered their love for creating TikTok videos.
While the couple has had tons of videos showing their life as a couple, they started gaining popularity when Abby found out she was pregnant. Shortly after, they went viral with reaction videos from when they told family and friends about the pregnancy.

The couple are now happy parents of two young kids and have started their own podcast, The Unplanned Podcast, after their big TikTok success.
At the same time, they’ve continued to upload videos detailing their life and trying viral TikTok trends, from dancing and lipsyncing to pranks.
Nearly every video on Matt and Abby’s channel has millions of views and hundreds of likes, showing that fans love the TikTok ‘power couple.’
Those stats have translated rather well over to their YouTube channel as well, where they have 7.15 million subscribers for their long-form vlogs.
Matt and Abby goes viral for ‘uncomfortable’ podcast
Unlike in the short videos the couple post to TikTok, Matt is more outspoken on the podcast. He has shared some opinions that have made listeners uncomfortable.

In one episode, he told Abby that she does, in his opinion, “feel different down there” after having babies. In another, he asked her why she eats as much as him since she’s smaller than him.
Sometimes, Abby looks visibly upset by his comments, but the couple maintains that they are happy together. Followers, however, have different ideas. “Abby blink if you need help!!!!!!” cried one comment on a recent video. “ABBY WE’RE ALL FINE IF YOU JUST: SPRINT,” said another.
The couple also went viral in June after they announced on their podcast that they were boycotting Father’s Day because the holiday fell too close to Matt’s birthday.
Abby said she had combined the parties for Matt’s birthday and Father’s Day into one the year before – reasoning that she was heavily pregnant at the time and the couple had only just returned from their ‘babymoon’ in Mexico. However, Matt did not like this setup.
Matt added: “You did combine the two of them. It’s okay though. I mean you were pregnant, you were uncomfortable, you were close.”
He continued: “But like Father’s Day and my birthday were the same exact day and it kind of was a bummer.”
Abby said: “I’m going to be honest with you, I failed you and I’m so sorry.”
They concluded the video by revealing they were “boycotting” Father’s Day that June and celebrating it three months later instead, so Matt could have two separate celebrations.
Viewers could not believe what Matt had said and took to the comments to defend Abby. One person wrote: “Matt is so selfish. Abby was pregnant, just got back from a vacation, still planned a BBQ celebration with cake… and she failed Matt? How? What a selfish human being Matt is. Wow.”
A second person wrote: “Is Matt a baby? Who still cares about birthdays at that age” while a third person said: “Why wouldn’t you combine them though? They are two occasions celebrating the same person so surely one celebration is perfect.”
